Formal legal escalation
Cease & Desist Letter
False allegations deserve more than another report.
Take your challenge directly to Trustpilot’s headquarters. We coordinate an evidence-backed formal letter, prepared by an independent partner law firm, to address false and damaging reviews.
A documented challenge
Put the facts on the record.
When a review crosses from opinion into false factual claims, a structured legal challenge addresses the specific statements, the evidence and the action being requested.
- Case assessment by an independent partner law firm
- Formal correspondence in Danish and English
- A structured evidence file supporting the challenge
- Physical letter delivered to Trustpilot HQ in Denmark
The legal partner determines the appropriate wording and request for your case. This is a formal notice service, not a court order.

Formal notice concerning disputed reviews
01 — Statements in dispute
Identify the review, the specific claim and why it is disputed.
02 — Supporting evidence
Present the relevant records and the legal partner’s assessment.
03 — Requested action
Request investigation or removal of the identified content.
Structure only—not an actual letter or legal advice. Each notice is prepared for the individual case.
When to escalate
For damaging claims. Not simply low ratings.
False factual allegations
Claims about your business that can be checked against records—not merely an unhappy customer’s opinion.
A challenge backed by evidence
Order records, correspondence or other relevant documents that directly address what the review alleges.
A case that needs formal escalation
Disputed content that remains online after ordinary reporting, where the legal partner identifies grounds for a formal notice.

Before you proceed
Your questions, answered.
Is this the same as reporting a review?
No. A standard report uses Trustpilot’s business tools. This service escalates the matter through formal correspondence prepared by an independent partner law firm and delivered to Trustpilot’s headquarters.
Who prepares the letter?
Legal assessment and drafting are carried out by an independent licensed partner law firm. Removed.to coordinates your submission and evidence; we are not a law firm and do not provide legal advice.
Can one letter cover several reviews?
Share all relevant links so the scope can be assessed. The starting price is $199; the final scope and any additional cost depend on the number of reviews and complexity of the matter and are confirmed before work begins.
How long does it take?
Preparation depends on the evidence and legal assessment. We confirm the expected preparation schedule for your case. Trustpilot controls its own response time.
Does the letter guarantee removal?
No. A formal letter presents the documented challenge and requests action; it does not compel a particular outcome. Trustpilot makes the final removal decision. Genuine criticism is not a valid removal target.
What is the refund policy?
Formal legal notices are non-refundable once work has started, including preparation, and once the physical letter has been sent. This is subject to any mandatory rights that apply to you. See our refund policy for full details.
